The project to convert 6550 and 6666 St. Urbain St. in Montreal’s Mile-Ex neighbourhood has reached a milestone with the confirmation of video game company Behaviour as a major tenant of one of the two buildings.
Called O Mile Ex, the conversion project is the work of Lemay’s transdisciplinary team, which brought together its own experts in architecture, architectural branding, graphic design and urban planning for the occasion.
A proud display of the trendy neighbourhood’s industrial past and buildings, the project is designed to take on the personality of its tenants as well as its neighbours. Lemay’s approach aims to connect its users and the community, chiefly through a green pedestrian alley set between the two buildings: a distinctive space for everyone to adopt as their own. The public laneway will connect St. Urban to a future linear park west of the site.
La Presse reports that half the offices in the first building are already rented. Work on the second building is expected to start by early spring.
